Is the HCG diet just a fad?

No.  The HCG diet is based on a VLCD (very low calorie diet).  VLCD’s are time tested and proven to be safe and effective when properly monitored.  The HCG makes your results much better than with a traditional VLCD, such as with liquid protein shakes alone. The diet is based on healthy, lean, organic foods and our dietitians can help monitor your progress to make sure you are getting the protein and nutrients you need!

Is HCG safe?

HCG has very few, if any, side effects, and none that are serious.  Headaches and menstrual spotting are probably the most common.

Can I just get HCG for cheap on the internet?

Maybe.  Who knows what you are getting?  And even if you could be assured you were getting pharmaceutical-grade injectable HCG, who will be monitoring your success?  Who will be your dietitian to answer your questions?  The drug itself is just a small part of your success.  We have a team of experienced weight loss professionals to assist in your care!

What are “homeopathic” HCG drops?

You will read a lot of information on the internet about “homeopathic” HCG.  About how it will test negative for the actual chemical HCG.   Many times when these homeopathic solutions are chemically tested there is either no HCG found whatsoever, or only trace amounts. Would you buy a gallon of ice cream that doesn’t have any actual ice cream in it?

Isn’t it weird for a guy to take HCG?

Actually HCG is present in very small amounts in men and is often used to treat hypogonadism or infertility issues in men.  It generally has no significant side effects.

Lots of clinics are offering HCG, why choose Dr. Curry’s team?

Weight loss is all we have been doing for many years, and we have a complete team of experts to help you succeed.  Just because people offer HCG does not mean they are experts or have any specific expertise in the complex issues that weight loss patients often face!

What types of foods can I eat on the HCG diet?

Food choices should be varied daily for the most effective weight loss.

    • Boneless chicken breast
    • Lean ground beef
    • Filet mignon
    • Crab meat
    • Halibut
    • Tilapia

  17. missy smith says:

I was wondering if i could get the cost of hcg program with and without adipex? I was on adipex last year and the first time i took it i had experienced a 40 lb weight loss that was through medi weightloss. I then tried adipex again through my doctor and didnt lose only a few lbs. Does your body get immuned to this medicine, thats what i was told.

    1. I will have Robin from my office reach out by email to go over cost. You don’t really become immune to Adipex, but you can become less sensitive and require a higher dosage.

  18. I am a long time patient. I had the band placed 8 years ago. I have had some recent issues. I had my band unfilled about a year ago because of issues. I am currently being filled but it is a slow process of losing the 20lbs I have gained. I’ve lost about 10 but still have 10 to go. I am frustrated and summer is here. I am 5′ 1.5″ and 135lbs..just curious what my medical weight loss options are to assist in losing the last 10lbs? Thanks.

    1. Hi Melissa, sorry for the delay. We have multiple options to assist Lap Band patients, if you call 513-559-1222 option 2 someone can go through all the programs we have available.

  20. Hello, do you accept care credit?

  21. Curious about hgc and its costs. What about weight gain afterward? I am coming off of an injury and need to get active and loose 90 pounds in my opinion. I used to body build so I don’t want to loose muscle. thanks

    1. Hi Renee – for 90 pounds you might be better off with a gastric balloon rather than HCG, but our HCG program is $595 for the full 3 months.

      Dr. Curry

  22. Mary garth says:

Hi i am very interested I. The hug program in Columbus are there payment plan options? I’m about 80-100 pounds over weight currently but I don’t want surgery I wear my weight different so I don’t look as much overweight as i am. I’d like to schedule an appointment to come in and talk to someone about my options and what’s best is there a charge for this? I would like more info on this program I would like to have someone email me prices what’s included etc. thank you Mary

    1. Hi there just call 513-559-1222 option 2 and someone can talk you through your options.

      Dr. C

  23. How much does the hcg diet cost? I want to lose 50-60 pounds. Would this work for me? I am on phentermine at the time being but in 3 months i have only lost 12 pounds while being on it. I need something that will work for me. I’m tired of being obese and forking out a hundred dollars a month for phentermine isn’t worth it anymore. It worked for me in the past but not now.

    1. It’s sometimes hard to predict what will and won’t work for a particular patient, but the HCG diet is a good option for 15-30 pounds. For 50-60 pounds, either a balloon or a surgical weight loss option would be best.

      Dr. C

  24. Jeannette Smith says:

How much is the adipex and the HCG, I contacted another place and I could make payments with the HCG I receive 325 every 3 months on my insurance card plus bi weekly pay.

What do I need to start the adipex.

    1. Hi Jeannette it’d be best to call Pam or Robin at 513-559-1222 and they can give you details.

      Dr. Curry

  25. Hi, I would love some information on the HCG diet. Such as cost, restrictions, criteria, and any other information that would be helpful. I have been researching HCG for quite some time and am trying to find the right clinic to go to.

    Thanks so much!

    1. Ok Madison I forwarded your info to Pam from my office who will be contact you to discuss our HCG Diet program.

      Dr. Curry

  26. Hi, I am 56yrs old and I weigh 245lbs and 5’1 I am pre-diabetic and need to loss weight would HCG work for me or would the balloon work better and how would the recovery process work with me being pre-diabetic?

    1. Hi Zelda, at your BMI I don’t think HCG would be a powerful enough option. It would be best to consider a surgical weight loss option like a sleeve gastrectomy, or if that’s not feasible then balloon would be 2nd best.

      Dr. Curry

  27. I would like information on the hcg diet program. The cost, also can someone on blood pressure meds do this? Or if there is any info on the other weight loss meds?

  28. Dear Dr Curry,
I would like to lose 30-35 lbs safely…but within 3-4 months max. I’m interested to know know which option You would recommend to me. Obviously I’d like to go non surgical if possible. Options please.?
    Looking forward to it!!

    1. To achieve this I would HCG with phentermine. Best bet would be to fill out appointment request here on the web site and I will have someone call you.

      Dr. Curry

  35. Interested Girl says:

I’m interested in non surgical options. I’m currently well over the BMI limits and surgery would likely be the recommendation. I have no desire to do surgery. My weight was put on via steroids then as depression from that weight gain ~ food. I need to lose 50-75 pounds for my health in the short term. Long term my goal 120 – 135. I’m interested in learning about the HCG protocol and the costs. My former doctor had mentioned it to me previously, but I’ve since moved and I’m now in the Ohio area.

    1. Trace Curry says:

Just give our patient service reps a call at 513-559-1222 and they can help you with your options.

  36. ginarowland says:

Do you have any of the HCG documents online? I’m looking for the HCG Program Checklist and The Phase II and III Food Record.

    1. Trace Curry says:

  37. Cindy Chronister says:

I read above that Adipex, or phentermine, is an appetite suppressant and HCG is a hormone that helps target abdominal fat. Can these two be used together?

Could you please email me with the cost associated with a non-surgical program and would this be eligible for the financing options listed here?

    Thank you so much.

    1. Trace Curry says:

Yes we frequently use the two together, we call it HCG 2.0. I’ll have one of my PSR’s reach out as to cost, etc as I’m not sure what promos or specials might be running if any.

  38. I am interested in doing the phentermine with a fat burner like Lipotrophic. I know there are several clinics in the Kentucky area. Do you offer this and can someone send me the cost info. I would like to start ASAP on a program

    1. Trace Curry says:

We do phentermine treatment but we do not use any lipotrophics any more, I just don’t think they work.

      Dr. Trace Curry
      Medical Director
      JourneyLite Physicians

  39. Thank you for your speedy reply. What is your cost for the phtetermine/ medical weight loss treatments? And how soon can I get an appt? My BMI is 39% – I’m 210 and would like to be about 180. I can drop 10 on my own in about 2 wks, but I stall after that.

  40. I love HCG Drops, however I do not really recommend the HCG Diet. It puts too much strain on the body in my opinion.

    1. Trace Curry says:

We have found the HCG diet to be very safe and effective when monitored by registered dietitians.
